243 Northampton Street in Easton is an Address you MUST etch into the address book inside your mind and go to as soon as POSSIBLE.

Why? Because THAT is the address of The River Grille – One of the most amazing restaurants I’ve ever been to and one of the best restaurants YOU will ever go to!  Simply divine is an understatement! Chef Roth really came to the plate and hit a grand slam with the menu and with everything my wife and I enjoyed recently for dinner!

Artie, the Restaurant’s General Manager greeted us the moment we got there and we sat at a  nice, cozy booth! He informed us about some of the history of River Grille, a little bit about Chef Roth, and their HUGE involvement with the State Theater (Many of the act dine at River Grille Before the show or get food delivered to their backstage room).  Artie, thank you for this amazing experience!

The Wine and Craft Beer selection at TRG is top-notch as expected and the Bar Manager can serve up anything your pallet desires! Erica and I let Chef Roth do the picking for our dinner selections and let’s just say that I’m glad he did! For Starters we enjoyed Fresh Mozzarella (House Made Mozzarella, Vine Ripe Tomatoes, Vidalia Onions, Capers, and Grilled Crostini). Also, he brought out something I was hoping he would… Braised Chicken Spring Rolls (Slow-Cooked Chicken, Napa Cabbage, and  Hoisin Chili Dipping Sauce)! These Spring rolls were TO DIE FOR! (The plating of each of these foods also was a delight for the eyes. Definitely look at all of the photos that we posted. WARNING-your mouth will water!) Next we enjoyed Chef’s Tuna Tartare. (Ginger Vinaigrette, Ahi Tuna, Crab, Wakame). Fresh, powerful, mouth tingling.

We moved in between Appetizers and Entrées to  one of The River Grille’s Gourmet Pizza Selections.  Something we have NEVER seen on a menu. Pig & Fig Pizza! Artie’s Favorite!!! (Applewood Bacon & Onion Compote, Blue Cheese, Asiago, Chevre, Arugula) The mix of these gourmet cheeses in your mouth all melting together with the Bacon, onion and fig, just makes your mind shoot off fireworks of excitement! Definitely something different and something to try !

For dinner, my wife went with something light – Costa Rican Tilapia (Corn & Crab Crust, Snow Peas, Southwestern Corn Sauce, and Jasmine Rice). She and I are both big fish fans and this was absolutely incredible.  I ended up eating half of it even though I was full after my dinner because it was THAT GOOD! Simple is good! For my portion of dinner, I enjoyed the Verdura Mushroom Sandwich. ( Portobello, Vidalias, Poblano Peppers, Eggplant, Zucchini, Roasted Red Pepper Sauce, and a  Cheddar Cheese Baguette).  This essentially is chef’s take on a cheese steak minus the meat. Amazingly healthy ingredients, all melted together.  If you are trying to lay off the red meat but still want to enjoy s fantastic sandwich, this is the WINNER! I could swear I was eating an authentic cheese steak while dining on this sandwich!

We finished off the evening with 2 amazing HOME MADE desserts! A Mini-Cheesecake topped with fresh fruits and a sweet sauce AND a White Chocolate Berry Mousse. Words can’t describe how this tasted! Heck, words can’t describe how any of this tasted. It was THAT GOOD! Please take a look at all the photos and please visit The River Grille.

Chef Roth, came out to visit us numerous times, has been with TRG for years, lives local, and is a fantastic individual. Professionally trained and fantastic at his craft, meet him if you can.  A LARGE amount of items on their menu are Gluten Free, and they try to use as much local in-season produce as possible!
